"When we were young” is romantic and reckless. It’s defiant yet innocent. We wanted to explore those neverending nostalgic middle school summers and go back to a time before work, drugs or alcohol. Pure innocence, no real stress. a time before cellphones. The time when the biggest worry was getting one more laugh in before you had to go home for dinner and sneaking out of the house to get that first kiss with your crush.

Kyle Cogan is an Emmy® Award-winning director, producer and animator working in television and film. He leads a full service production company, Simian.la and has worked for the historic NFL Films over four seasons. With a passion for building successful, creative production and post-production teams, Kyle has led projects ranging from top music labels to national broadcast networks. With Simian.la he has worked with notable musicians/acts such as Iggy Azalea, Paul McCartney, Nickelback, Jennifer Lopez, Breaking Benjamin, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Steve Aoki. Recently, he has directed the short film “Bad Assistant” starring Jason Schwartzman and Paige Klone. The film is currently in post production
