Invoking the nostalgia of mid-century postcards from Florida, we sourced actual postcards from Ebay, Etsy, and the Massachusetts Commonwealth Digital Archive to reinterpret with Bas and A$AP Ferg. Once we composited the performers into each shot, we applied the same texture from the physical postcards onto the footage through machine learning technology to integrate the artists seamlessly into the original artwork. Literally every original postcard we used exclusively featured white models, so reinterpreting these decades-old works of art with black performers provides a timely commentary on black travel imagery.
